Listening Touch

Gentle rebranding… a friendly nickname?

When I tell people I practice Integrated Cranial Biodynamics, or, a bit more simply, Cranial Biodynamics, they would most often give me a more confused look, and I would often spend some time trying to explain without much success until, eventually, we’d either agree for them to “just give it a try once” or move on to another topic, leaving the confusion as it is.

To me, it’s not the easiest to explain what we do, because a lot of what happens feels like it belongs where words don’t, and it seems to get harder when I start with words such as “cranial” and “biodynamics,” which seem to sound quite technical to many even though they are not really once you get to know them.

I spoke about it one time over lunch with my dear teacher in Chiang Mai and came up with a little, simple nickname for this practice: Listening Touch.

Maybe it makes it sound more accessible and friendly… or not? I like that it highlights the very essence of what we do, listening.

Learning and practicing listening and being listened to has been a tremendous and essential support in my growth in the past years (a decade, almost!), and I look forward to sharing this experience more as I continue onward.
